IoT.jpgThe Internet of Things (IoT) is growing at a substantial rate and internet enabled smart objects are being used more frequently across a wide range of industries as a means of harnessing vast amounts of data and intelligence.

The healthcare industry in particular has welcomed the emergence of Mobile Health technologies (or ‘M-Health’) to assist with the provision of their services and it won’t be long until driverless cars become the norm. As our reliance on digital technology grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to predict the risks that will arise as a result.

On 10th November, IT Group expert Jason Coyne will take part in a roundtable discussion at BLM’s Plantation Place offices. This is the second in a series of roundtables looking at product liability and coverage issues in relation to this topic. Following on from the success of the first discussion in July, Jason, alongside a number of other experts, will focus on challenges in addressing causation of loss and the potential issues in relation to insurance coverage for both insurers and businesses involved in this evolving industry.

There will be an opportunity for delegates to put questions forward to the panel, which will also include the BLM Product Liability team and a senior Trading Standards Officer.

This event is aimed particularly at claims teams, manufacturers and retailers. Spaces are limited so if you wish to attend, please visit BLM’s events page and register your interest.
