In the industry that we work in, walking the line between what the often non-technical solicitors say they want and what activities are actually possible is a daily activity. There are times however, when we find a member of a law firm who asks for something that nobody seems able to do, yet we are left scratching our heads as to why no one did offer such a service. When this happens, we like to turn away from pre-made tools and see if we can develop a program or script that, in house, conducts exactly what we need.
IT Group Locate Tens of Thousands of Documents Stored in Client-side Cache During e-Disclosure Exercise
When searching for material in an e-Disclosure exercise, we are often asked to look at corporate file servers. Last week, when instructed by a firm of liquidators, we needed to broaden our horizons. We discovered that someone had removed the hard drives from the file server in question - perhaps in an attempt to scupper the investigation.
Our e-Disclosure platform, Intella Connect, has recently been updated with new features and functionality that will significantly improve the searching and processing of documents for review.
Clients sometime baulk at the cost of running an e-Disclosure process to search for and within documents, especially when they have a Document Management System (DMS) within their organisation and their IT team may even be familiar with downloadable search tools.
